Position Title: Level 3 Remodeler (Journeyman / Skilled Remodeler)
Reports To: Level 4 Foreman / Project Manager
Salary Range: $32-$42/hr Based on Experience


About the Role

Keycon is seeking an experienced Skilled Remodeler / Journeyman to join our residential remodeling team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality construction work across multiple trades while supporting project success through problem-solving, attention to detail, and collaboration with team members.

The ideal candidate has strong carpentry skills, experience in residential remodeling, and takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform residential remodeling work including framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry installation, door and window installation, waterproofing, siding, exterior trim, and concrete work.
  • Complete punch list items and final project details with a high level of quality.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and project documents.
  • Identify field challenges and work with project leadership to develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, and jobsite issues with supervisors and team members.
  • Mentor and support less experienced crew members as needed.
  • Follow and promote jobsite safety standards.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
  • Strong carpentry and finish-work skills.
  • Experience working across multiple construction trades, including framing, door/window/skylight installation, cabinetry, drywall, tiling, waterproofing, plumbing, concrete, siding/exterior trim work, and appliance installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools and jobsite equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying jobsite conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with design-build remodeling projects.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience using construction management software such as JobTread.

Position Title: Preconstruction Estimator
Reports To: Head of Sales / General Manager
Salary Range: $72,800-$104,000/year

About the Role

Keycon is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Estimator to support our residential remodeling and design-build projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate project budgets, preparing estimates, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and collaborating with our sales, design, and production teams throughout the preconstruction process.

The Preconstruction Estimator serves as a key technical and financial resource during the preconstruction phase and helps support successful project execution through accurate budgeting, constructability review, and value engineering.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of residential construction, enjoys solving complex pricing challenges, and can effectively balance accuracy, speed, and client expectations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed construction estimates.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate budgets and scopes of work.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, architects, engineers, and sales staff throughout project development.
  • Provide budgeting guidance during design and assist with value engineering recommendations.
  • Track pricing trends, maintain estimating records, and support continuous improvement of estimating processes.
  • Participate in project site visits as needed to verify existing conditions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of estimating experience in residential remodeling, custom home, or design-build construction.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Experience preparing construction budgets, quantity takeoffs, and subcontractor bid comparisons.
  • Knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with the following software:
    • JobTread
    • Bluebeam
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Google Sheets and Google Docs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field construction experience.
  • Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with design-build project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Eichler home construction.
  • Proficiency with the following software:
    • PlanSwift or similar takeoff software
    • Buildertrend
    • Procore
