Keycon is a residential design-build remodeling company serving the South Bay and Peninsula, with expertice in Eichler and mid-century modern homes. We value careful workmanship, clear communication, and respect for the people who live in the homes we remodel.

The Opportunity

Lead field operations across approximately 5–7 active residential remodeling projects at a time. You will travel between jobs, support Team Leads, oversee subcontractors, and solve problems before they interrupt progress. This role suits an experienced residential builder who can earn trust with crews and homeowners while keeping safety and quality at the center of daily decisions.

What You Will Do

• Plan site visits around critical work, inspections, safety risks, and support needs. Stay in daily contact with Team Leads and verify progress in person across active jobs.
• Maintain a two-to-three-week field plan aligned with the Project Manager’s schedule. Coordinate crews, materials, equipment, trade readiness, and inspection needs.
• Lead field safety: identify hazards, stop unsafe work, verify corrections, and reinforce safe practices across employees and subcontractors. Protect occupants and confirm appropriate controls before disturbing suspect hazardous materials.
• Manage subcontractor starts, sequencing, access, and handoffs. Check scope and workmanship, document deficiencies, and follow corrections through to completion.
• Check work against approved plans and installation requirements, inspect critical details before concealment, and drive punch work and closeout.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, address field concerns, and coordinate notice of disruptive work. Keep the Project Manager informed of issues affecting scope, cost, or schedule.
• Coach Team Leads and field employees, strengthen crew skills, and keep progress, photos, and corrective actions current in JobTread.

You report to the Project Manager and oversee assigned field employees. Team Leads direct daily tasks on their jobs. The Project Manager retains overall project, budget, and contractual accountability.

What You Bring

• Typically 10–15 years of residential construction and remodeling experience, with demonstrated field leadership and the ability to coordinate several active jobs.
• Strong plan reading, construction sequencing, quality control, subcontractor management, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Calm, clear communication with homeowners, crews, and office staff; willingness to address problems early and follow through.
• Experience applying construction safety procedures and coordinating safe work across trades.
• Comfort using JobTread and Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive, or the ability to learn these tools.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel between jobsites throughout the workday, and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Eichler remodeling experience is strongly preferred, including familiarity with post-and-beam construction, radiant slab systems, low-slope roofs, and original architectural details. OSHA 30 and current first aid/CPR training are preferred.

Success and Growth at Keycon

Quarterly check-ins focus on jobsite coverage and progress, safety follow-through, subcontractor readiness, quality and punch completion, homeowner follow-up, and development of Team Leads. Safe work and prompt reporting take priority over speed.

Build toward Project Manager through development in budgeting, forecasting, change management, and full project delivery. Advancement depends on demonstrated readiness and business need.
